Meditations

I have the practice of reading my Bible daily using a plan that will take me through the Bible in a year. But I read a lot more of the Bible than the approximately three chapters a day it takes to complete a trip through the Bible in a year. And I read lots of other things that cause me to pause and cogitate over the words just read. Sometimes I just have to write, to think the words or thoughts through on paper, to figure out what they say and mean to me, and maybe to someone else.
Those thoughts show up in MEDITATIONS. And, periodically when I houseclean my Blog entries, lots of them will end up stored back here.

Blindsided by God

What makes this book especially good is that Chin doesn’t try to preach at you, or say how nothing discouraged him because after all, he had God.

A Life-Changing Moment!

I was seventeen, home from college to watch my boyfriend, Jim King, wrestle in the regional tournament, then as now, at the end of February. The tournament and wrestling season over for us on Saturday, Jim's family invited me for dinner, or did Jim invite me for dinner at his house after church? I'm not…Read more A Life-Changing Moment!

Like A Glutton!

And maybe you are like me, you may even work hard to get your Bible reading in every day, but you approach it like a job, a task, something to get through sometimes.

One Night in Bethlehem

Since I am working on my second book of poetry, I thought I might post a few pieces from my first, pieces that relate to this Christmas season.  Here is the first one. I hope it brings that amazing night into reality for you. One Night in Bethlehem   She lay there in the cold, cutting…Read more One Night in Bethlehem
